EVENTSThursday 8th to Sunday 11th May 2008 - The Malvern Spring Gardening Show 2008The Spring Show at Malvern marks the start of the rose exhibitor’s season and billed as “The finest and friendliest gardening event of the year”. Starved of gardening delights during the winter, the public flock to this season opener to see trade stands, specialist society stands and show gardens designed by, amongst others, Chris Beardshaw. The Spring Rose show at Malvern has now become an important event in the Societies calendar and we would love more members to have a go exhibiting there. Just a few roses in pots, placed in a cold greenhouse in December can provide even a novice exhibitor with some magnificent show quality blooms. In recent years, the miniature varieties have proved to be the most popular. Their diminutive size and apparent willingness to bloom almost to order make them the ideal subject for the novice grower. With varieties such as Irresistible, Amber Star, Glowing Amber, plus many new varieties arriving every year, there has never been a better time to have a go at growing for the Malvern Spring Show. Indeed, some of the cleanest blooms that you will see during a rose show season will be seen at Malvern. The rose exhibitors at the show will gladly share their growing and showing knowledge with you, and perhaps next year we might see your roses on the show bench. The Malvern Spring Show is run by The Three Counties Agricultural Society, and is held at The Showground, Malvern, Preview Day is 8th May with the show starting on Friday 9th May.
